A hike from San Salvatore to Morcote – a feast for each of your senses. You simply cannot get enough of the majestic 360-degree panorama that you have from Monte Salvatore. You can indulge yourself in the captivating fragrances produced by the sea of flowers found in Parco San Grato outside Carona or in Parco Scherrer in Morcote between April and August. The aroma of a glass of Merlot from the Castello Morcote vineyards that hostess Gaby Gianini serves together with local treats in the gourmet restaurant on the Alpe Vicania is just as alluring. The tranquillity of the chestnut forests of Monte Arbòstora is virtually complete. You only hear the merry chirping of the birds or the whispering of the wind through the treetops. By the time that you reach Morcote – the one-time fishing village that was named Switzerland’s most beautiful town in 2016 – and dip your feet in the water of Lake Lugano at the very latest, you realise that there is hardly any better place to combine pleasure and hiking than Ticino.

ROUTE:
